Now that you have a little ear worm courtesy of The Sound of Music (you're welcome!), let me say hello and welcome to my blog!
My name is Aimee, and I'm a scientist living in northern Virginia. My heart will always be in New England, however, and it's a daily struggle to keep the homesickness from taking over my life. Fortunately Virginia is full of horses, and horses make me happy. I'm going to try to keep a semi regular blog so my friends and family back home can stay up to date on the comings and goings of my life, specifically my life in the barn. And if others care to join in on the conversation, well...the more, the merrier!
As you can see, the blog is called "Show me the Meeko"...so what exactly is a Meeko?
Meeko is a 13 year old Holsteiner gelding. He's a big, goofy boy who loves peppermints and ear scritches. He and I found each other in a very odd way, but that is a story in itself. Let's just say fate might have thrown us together - he needed a home, and I needed a pony to love. We're just starting our partnership together but the future looks bright.
